The desk marked seven has the simplest history of all the 1880 fac-smiles.
The desk was presented to the Concord Free Public Library on Christmas Eve 1880 by Henry Flagg French where it remains in their collection to this day.
This is documented by a Christmas Day letter of acceptance signed by Ralph Waldo Emerson. on behalf of the library
This duplicate has been signed and dated by the maker James A. Degges in the drawer and appears to have a photograph reproduction, similar to most of the other replicas but has some aspects that require further research.
